We stopped for coffee in Pine Valley and chatted with a local couple who biked in Germany.
We are several miles from the Mexican border. Coming around a bend we encountered a temporary Border Patrol checkpoint with 6 vehicles, cameras and spikes in the road. Check was for westbound traffic and we were headed east so no problem.
Staying at Sacred Heart campground on another reservation. They let us use the clubhouse for dinner. We enjoyed the showers and a flock of wild turkey. Dinner was spaghetti, toasted garlic bread and fresh strawberries with whipped cream
Heard an owl as I fell asleep.
